Fall Skin Care- Part 1:Enzyme treatment
Fall is here! Time to start thinking about Halloween, fall colors and oh yes, fall skin care. After spending the summer in the sun, your skin needs some special care.
Fall skin care is about rejuvenation, repair and preparing for a more hydrating routine for the winter months. Here is your first round of fall skin care tips.
MASQUE: You should masque twice a week and change up the ingredients and techniques during each season. For fall, we recommend adding natural enzymes and Vitamin rich fruits/veggies to your skin care routine. Enzymes loosen dead skin cells, revealing healthy new cells for softer, healthier looking skin. Enzymes also even out pigmentation from sun damage.
-Pumpkin: The enzymes in pumpkin encourage new cell turnover and regeneration. This makes pumpkin perfect for all skin types, acneic to aging skin. Pumpkin is Rich in Vitamin A and beta carotene which provides anti-oxidant and anti-aging benefits.
-Pineapple: The enzymes in pineapple fight free radicals that damage and age skin. These enzymes also reduce age spot, promotes skin elasticity and leave the skin feeling soft and supple. The alpha hydroxy acids found in Pineapple have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and interfere with the growth of malignant cells and tumors.
-Honey: Honey has a variety of skin benefiting properties. It is humectant, meaning it attracts water hence hydrating the skin. It is also anti-microbial making it beneficial for acne and wounds. Honey has drawing properties which helps to remove toxins and impurities and has anti-oxidant properties which helps prevent sun damage.
-Carrot: Carrots are rich in Vitamin C (retinol) and Coenzyme Q 10. These ingredients help to reduce wrinkles and penetrate deep into layers of collagen and elastin. The result is stimulation of production of elastin and collagen for smoother, more elastic skin.
