Tips for Oily, Acne, Stressed Skin

Lets face it, it can be embarrassing when our skin does not look it’s best. Some people naturally have overproductive sebaceous glands, thus having “oily” skin. Others have issues with acne which then results in acne scars. Sometimes when under stressful situations, people with otherwise normal skin can get breakouts. Well, here are some easy tips to help get your skin back in balance.

Products

• Avoid products that overly dry your skin. This will cause even more oiliness and acne.
• Use a natural, exfoliating, gentle masque once a week.
• Simplify beauty routine. Masque, cleanse, tone, moisturize with products that do not have toxic chemicals in them.

At Home Recipes

• Dab lemon juice or honey to acne, they are both anti-bacterial and have healing properties.
• Make your own masque with yogurt and either Turmeric or Licorice powder (spice isle). These will help to calm inflammation and heal.
Nutrition
• Drink plenty of water to flush toxins from the body.
• Chronic acne sufferers should consider getting tested for food allergies.
• Studies have shown that EGCG’s found in Green Tea help to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress associated with acne and stressed skin conditions. Drink green tea every day!
• Acne has been associated with deficiencies in Zinc, selenium and chromium. Something to consider would be seeing a nutritional consultant to be sure you are getting adequate amounts of these minerals.
